Leading global aerospace firm, Ontic, whose Creedmoor site is home to well-known brands Firstmark, Aircraft Belts Inc., and Twin Commander, had the opportunity to improve the lives of young people in the Granville County area a couple of weeks ago by donating much-needed school supplies.
Arriving just in time for the start of the school year, the Granville County Public Schools (GCPS) team have already set about distributing Ontic’s donations – consisting of backpacks, stationery, and other school supplies - directly into the arms of students who will benefit from them.
Dr Stan Winborne, Superintendent at Granville County Public Schools (GCPS), who have been championing Granville County students’ social, emotional, physical, and general health and wellness for a number of years, said: “We in GCPS are grateful for the generous spirit of our partners at Ontic. We are so appreciative of all the Ontic family does for our students at all grade levels. It is wonderful to have such giving business partners in our community. Please know what you do makes a difference.”
The GCPS are making great efforts to support their students’ social, emotional, physical, and general health and wellness, so Ontic’s Creedmoor employees have been eager to support however they can. In addition to donating these school supplies, they have been collaborating with the GCPS Career and Technical Education programs to support education and routes into employment through internships and trainee schemes.
Joshua Florio, General Manager of Ontic’s Creedmoor facility, added: “We are really pleased to support local Granville County children with these supplies. They are the next generation and as Ontic grows and thrives, we're keen to support our local community to do the same. We hope this helps these kids have a great start to the school year!”
