The 500B is the same as the Model 500A except the gross weight changed from 6250 pounds to 6750 pounds and the engines from a Continental IO470-M to a Lycoming IO540-B1A5. Plus, the Pilot entrance door was added as a customer option. The 500B was Certified on July 13, 1960.
