Eagle Creek Aviation Services, an authorized Twin Commander Service Center in Indianapolis, has completed a third Grand Renaissance Commander for the Colombian Army.
The Model 690B Twin Commander was transferred to the army from the nation’s air force, where it had sat for three years before going to Eagle Creek for the 10-month Grand Renaissance project.
Along with the complete airframe and systems refurbishment that defines the Grand Renaissance, Eagle Creek performed several service bulletins, upgraded the Honeywell engines to TPE331-10T configuration, installed a medevac door modification that allows the main cabin door to swing open 180 degrees, and upgraded the panel with Garmin G600 and GNS750/650 avionics.
The army uses its Grand Renaissance Commanders for military VIP transport and medevac missions.
“We are very proud that, for the third time, the Colombian Army has selected our aircraft and one of our premier service centers, Eagle Creek, to deliver an aircraft that best suit their needs –– flexible mission capability, the best fuel efficiency for their mission requirements, and dispatch reliability,” commented Twin Commander Aircraft President Matt Isley.
Colombian Army now has three Grand Renaissance Commanders, all done by Eagle Creek Aviation Services.
“Our partnership with the Colombian Army has been a memorable and productive experience for all involved,” added Eagle Creek President Matt Hagans. “We’ve worked very hard to deliver the best possible product, and the fact that, after taking delivery of the first Grand Renaissance, they have come back for two more says it all.”
